Relax With Sedation Dentistry
We want to ensure that each patient in our office has a relaxing, comfortable experience. Sedation dentistry can help achieve that. Though primarily used for patients with dental fear, it can benefit other patients, too.
We offer both oral conscious sedation and IV sedation at our office. We prescribe oral sedation in pill form for you to take before you come in for your appointment. It takes some time to kick in and wear off, so you’ll need a ride to and from your appointment. You won’t be put fully to sleep but will probably not remember much of the procedure and may fall asleep during treatment.
IV sedation is the deepest form of sedation we offer. We work with a local anesthesiologist to monitor your vitals and ensure the experience goes smoothly. You’ll also need a ride to and from your appointment with this sedation. While it isn’t administered until you’re in the office, it does take a while to wear off.
Sedation is primarily used for patients that have dental fear and anxiety. Sedation enables them to get the regular dental care they need. It can also assist patients with movement disorders or a severe gag reflex. It relaxes these movements, making treatment more comfortable for both the dentist and the patient.
